Transportation and Logistics Research

Overview

Port Jobs has published research investigating the availability of jobs in the transportation industry. Transportation, Distribution and Logistics: Entry Level Jobs in King County (funded by the Northwest Area Foundation) examines what makes up the transportation, distribution and logistics sector in King County and where promising entry level jobs are in that field.

More recently, we have explored Seattle's short-haul trucking industry, and examined how growing opportunities in logistics and international trade sector might replace disappearing jobs in the manufacturing industry.

In Detail

An emerging areas of interest currently under study is logistics and international trade. Port Jobs, a member of the Prosperity Partnership, is exploring this growing sector of the economy.
