Women in Trades study starts Port Jobs Reports, Summer 2005 In partnership with Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Employment for Women and Men (ANEW), Port Jobs is researching how to improve retention of women in building and construction trades. The purpose of the study is twofold: to identify what factors help women succeed in the trades; and to understand the barriers that women face when working in the trades. The final report (to be published in late 2005) will recommend strategies to improve retention at both apprentice and journey levels.
