Year of growth for Airport Jobs
Improving market brings in job seekers, adds employment opportunities

Port Jobs Reports, Summer 2005

Airport Jobs activity rebounded strongly in 2004 after a soft job market in 2003.

Located in the main terminal of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Airport Jobs is the primary recruiting tool for most airport-related employers and the principal resource for people seeking employment in or around the airport.

Airport Jobs helps job seekers understand the nature of airport employment; complete job applications; create resumes and cover letters; learn job search and interviewing techniques; and get referrals to community resources.

In partnership with South Seattle Community College, Airport Jobs also offers classes to help applicants with limited English proficiency successfully apply for and pass security tests required to work at the airport.

Airport employers benefit from Airport Jobs’ services by listing open positions on its weekly ‘Hot List’, which is distributed to job seekers online and in the office, and to 400+ organizations and job developers.

A number of employers use targeted recruiting events and open interview opportunities at Airport Jobs to quickly hire employees to fulfill new contracts, start up local operations, or expand markets.

Many smaller employers report they receive a steady flow of qualified candidates from Airport Jobs, and no longer need to spend scarce resources on paid advertising for job applicants.
