Airport Jobs is playing a key role in start-up operations for several new concessionaires operating in the Concourse A at Sea-Tac Airport.

Hudson Group, offering newsstands, bookshops, and other specialty stores, will eventually operate 22 news and gift shops, beginning with shops on the new Concourse A.

Seeking Sales Associates and Store Managers for the stores, Margaret Boron, HR Manager, contacted Airport Jobs.

Boron says that compared to other airports where they are “on their own” (without an employment center), the steady stream of applicants from Airport Jobs makes starting up much easier.

Bose Corporation sells high-quality headphones and audio equipment to passengers at Sea-Tac and has listed their “Demonstration Specialist” positions with Airport Jobs.

Grove Snacks operates stores on Concourses A & D selling natural snacks & frozen desserts. Richard Taylor, Regional Manager, said “starting a business in SeaTac was made easier thanks to your service.”

Taylor continues, “I was able to satisfy all of our staffing needs from the applicants that you sent us. Your screening and preparing of the applicants made a big difference.”

Sea-Tac Bar Group has opened the Africa Lounge and the Mountain Room Bar on the new Concourse A, using Airport Jobs to recruit all levels of staff.

The managers at Sea-Tac Bar Group found Airport Jobs most helpful in providing applicants as well as interview space while they were in start-up mode without office space.

A ground handler new to the airport, Facility Services and Systems landed a contract in June 2004.

The company will provide services to the South Satellite including Document Verifiers, International Luggage Handlers, Skycaps, and Special Services personnel.

Facility Services is working closely with Airport Jobs to recruit staff for their operation.

Summer travel season begins with increased hiring activity

Hiring for the 2004 summer season has been brisk at the airport for the first time since before 9/11.

During the months of June-July 2004, 295 individuals were hired through Airport Jobs, versus 119 during the same period in 2003. The increase is due to increased air travel and expansion of airport services.
