Free tax preparation services offered at Airport Jobs office

Port Jobs Reports, Winter 2004

Free tax preparation services will be provided by trained volunteers at the Airport Jobs Office on Saturdays between noon and 6pm from early January to April 15, 2004.

Taxpayers will learn how to make the most of their returns by opening or expanding savings accounts, repairing credit, improving financial/budgeting skills, or starting individual development accounts.

All are welcome, but the focus is on people who need assistance filing their returns and who may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC).
Volunteers are trained to electronically file simple tax forms like the 1040EZ, 1040A and 1040, but are unable to do more complex returns such as small business taxes, past year returns or schedules other than those for the EITC and CTC.

Tax preparation services are provided as part of the King County Earned Income Tax Credit campaign, a collaborative effort of the King County Asset Building Coalition (KCABC).

KCABC is also working with the Washington State Department of Employment Security, local social service agencies, banks and credit unions with branches in the King County area to make the campaign a success. For more information, call 206-461-5050.
