Trades Mentor Network Moves to ANEW Port Jobs Reports, Summer 2003 After ten years at the Worker Center, AFL-CIO, the Trades Mentor Network (TMN) has moved to the Apprenticeship and Non-Traditional Employment for Women and Men (ANEW). Under the Worker Center’s administration, the program trained and matched hundreds of mentors. “TMN has a long history of assisting apprentices by connecting them with experienced, journey-level workers,” said Susan Crane, Executive Director of Port Jobs. “We’re excited that ANEW will be building on that tradition.” Recently, TMN redesigned its approach by switching to a workplace mentoring model. This new model with be further developed at ANEW. ANEW also operates the Apprenticeship Opportunities Project (AOP) under contract with Port Jobs. AOP assists men and women seeking employment in the building and construction trades.
