FAQs

Q: How can I save time and smooth the process of new hires badging?

1. On the Identification Badge & Renewal Application, FIRST have the new hire fill out the “Applicant Complete” section. Then SECOND, you complete the “Company Complete” section.

Caution: If new hires arrive at the ID Access Office with a badge application form completed by the company, but with the “Applicant” section blank, the ID office will confiscate and shred the application. The new hire will then need to start over. Furthermore, if this happens more than three times for any authorized signer, that signer will be removed from the authorized signer list and will no longer be able to generate and sign the application forms.

2. Make sure each new hire brings the necessary pieces of ID (see list above) with them to the badging office.

3. Obtain and use a supply of blank Fingerprint Application forms from the ID Access Office. (Available in the forms rack with the Identification Badge & Renewal Application forms.).

TIP: Instruct new hires to take this completed form with them for the badging process. Interrupting the process to complete this form after they get to the ID Access office can slow down the process, so having it completed ahead of time speeds and smoothes the process.

Q: How can someone get a certified copy of their birth certificate?

The easiest way is to request a copy online. Here are a couple of sample websites for such requests: http://www.usbirthcertificate.com/wa.html or http://www.vitalchek.com

Q: Is there a charge to get copies of a birth certificate?

Yes, each state will charge according to their specific procedures. State fees vary from $25 to $49. If using a service such as the websites listed above, there is an additional charge.
